JOCELYN WILLIAMS EDUCATOR
Originally this portfolio was prepared for the Senior Academic Appointments and Promotions Committee ("SAAP") at Unitec. At that time, the process addressed four criteria, shown in the four corners below. These criteria or dimensions are somewhat aligned to the portfolio tabs along the top of the screen.
I treat these elements as fluid rather than discreet; they have porous boundaries. The map below signals interconnection. Each area or attribute often delivers beyond its immediate neighbours. For example 'Leading Collaboration' delivered not only for learners but also outcomes for actual communities, and published research outputs.
Most areas interact with the ones adjacent - 'Working the Interface' with industry also informs 'Transforming Learning' . They don't exist as separate things. You'll find as you read sections of the portfolio, there are links to other sections, demonstrating how this 'tapestry' holds together.
At the time of my latest update in 2023, the reform of vocational education shaping up as Te Pūkenga requires that dimensions of learning and teaching work holistically to best prepare ākonga for employment. I approach all elements of my work as a whole process. This has been intentional and strengthens my practice overall.
